How to Use the Privacy Insight Tool

This tool helps you understand what personal information is visible to websites and trackers when you browse online. It’s easy to use and built with your privacy awareness in mind.

1. Getting Started

Simply open the Home Page. As soon as the page loads, the tool will analyze your current connection and browser settings and display the results instantly — no installation required.

2. What You’ll See

IP Addresses: Your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Location: Based on your IP — if available from the API used.
ISP & ASN: Your Internet Service Provider and network identifier number.
VPN Detection: Whether a VPN is detected and which provider flagged it.
Browser Privacy Signals: Your cookies, ad blocker, WebRTC, language, plugins, and more.

2.1 Why Some Info Might Be Missing

We use multiple VPN/IP detection APIs like AbstractAPI, IPQualityScore, IPHub, and VPNAPI.io. These services differ in capability and rate limits. For example:

Some may detect VPN but not return location info.
Others may return accurate geolocation but no VPN provider name.
The system randomly selects a provider per session.
If all fail, the tool falls back gracefully and shows what’s still available.

3. Understanding the Privacy Score

The privacy score tells how exposed your browser and IP setup are. It ranges from 0 to 100%. Here's what it means:

🟢 100% – Excellent

Your digital fingerprint is minimal. You likely use a VPN, private browser settings, and privacy add-ons.

🟡 70–90% – Moderate

Some data is visible. Use a VPN or disable WebRTC to improve your score.

🔴 Below 60% – Poor

You're vulnerable to tracking and fingerprinting. Action is recommended.
